Photosynthesis is the first systems level process that paved a way for life on planet Green. The process starts with trapping the solar photons that are only source of energy for every living creature. These energy photons are converted into energy rich molecules for the daily life activities of an organism. It starts with absorbing CO2, a green house gas and utilizing H2O in presence of energy photons and chlorophyll to synthesize all the biochemical molecules in a direct or indirect way. Algae have played a key role in the evolution of this process. To understand the process of photosynthesis in a better way it becomes very important to study, how it is co-ordinated in a beautiful way taking into consideration both aspects i.e. top down and bottom up approaches in which algae can be considered complete system. This system can be named as a macro system which can be divided into many small micro systems. Each micro system will be divide into many compartments. The compartments can be studied for each process and their behavior can be recorded. That means that we will have both approaches to study the complete macro systems and derive inferences and at the same time studying each compartment of micro system, that can be integrated into system. This whole series of experiments will describe and explain us the systems biology of algae [manuscript under preparation]
